2.2 1st, 2nd and 3rd place positions for Overall BOTY, in both PHRF and JOG, shall be awarded prizes.

  1. Scoring

3.1 The Cox-Sprague scoring system shall be used.

3.2 Series scores shall be calculated to the 3rd decimal place.

  1. Cox Sprague Scoring System Explained

4.1 The Cox Sprague Scoring System takes into account both the number of boats that you beat and the number that beat you. It is useful when ranking boats racing in different fleets for a series.

4.2 Each starting yacht in a counter regatta shall be credited with the number of points for her finishing place based on the number of starters in its division as indicated in the table below.

4.3 A yachts score shall be calculated by dividing its total points scored by her total possible points.

Example: A yacht finishes 3rd in a division with 10 competitors. From the table below, the total number of points available in this division is 80 (1st out of 10), the 3rd place yacht is awarded 70 points. To calculate its score for the regatta, its points (70) are divided by the total points available (80) resulting in a score of 0.875.

70/80=0.875
