The Maple Leaf Regatta / CS 30 Nationals was a success and a fun day had by all.
We had 16 participants and I thank everyone of you who raced the day.
There were 3 starts:
1st start Jog: Swept Back, Escapade, Principal Diversion, Double Vision, Midnight Oil, Thunder, Commotion
2nd start CS 30’s: Crackers, Left Wing, Prime Time, Avaleen
3rd start PHRF A: 10 Forward, Spongeworthy, 2nd Wind, Hat Trick, Moneypenny
The day started with light winds, 2-5 knots of breeze from the NW, the wind was forecasted to shift to the West and eventually the South West with up to 12 knots by the afternoon.
There was a very light to no wind section on first leg for about an hour where patience were tried and dropping out was looking like the way to go 🙂
But as most sailor do, they wait it out and hope for the best, the wind did finally show up and on the committee boat we were seeing 10-11 knots of breeze by the time boats were coming home for the finish.
We had a great fish dinner followed by the awards to finish out the day.
